Trump’s accounts on Meta platforms may soon be restored following recent discussions.

Following a two-year suspension following the tragic Capitol Hill riot on January 6, Meta Platforms said on Wednesday that it will reinstate former US President Donald Trump’s Facebook and Instagram accounts in the coming weeks.

A week ago, the Trump team was in talks with Meta Platforms about reinstating his Facebook and Instagram accounts, two years after the company banned him for inciting violence.

“We are talking to them, and we’ll see how it all works out,” Trump said, according to the report. “If they took us back, it would help them greatly, and that’s okay with me,” he said. “But they need us more than we need them.”

Meta banned Trump’s Facebook and Instagram account after deleting two of his postings from the Jan. 6, 2021, U.S. Capitol riot, including a video containing false accusations of widespread voter fraud during the 2020 presidential election.
